Learn To
Sew Your Own Custom
Clothing-
Beginner Class or
those with some sewing experience

This class introduces beginners to the basics of sewing: how
to thread and use the sewing machine, understanding the
pattern and layout, sewing terms, cutting, marking, and
construction methods. For those with some
experience, we will make a beautiful skirt of your design and fabric choice, while
learning how to measure, fit and adjust a pattern to our
figure type. We will learn how to sew a waistband,
insert a zipper and hemming and finishing techniques for a
professional look.
You will learn the skills to enable you to make more skirts
at home. There may be time to make an additional
garment in class. I encourage students to bring your own sewing machine to
class if you have one, so you will be comfortable sewing
projects at home. If you don't have one, I have sewing
machines and sergers you can use. Creativity is always
encouraged.
This
introductory class is a 6-week class meeting on Wednesday
mornings from 10-1.
